The biggest and best Hospitality and Entertainment Awards took place on Sunday the 8th May at the Glasgow City Hotel.
The 5th Scottish Entertainment & Hospitality Awards presented by Molson Coors was a huge success. Around 800 guests attended the event, all of which were entertained throughout the evening by Justin Currie, former frontman of Del Amitri, performing arts school GAMTA, West end rising Star Matthew McKenna, local girl Ciara Harvie and of course our very own talent Nicola Cassells who appeared on stage with the Glasgow Philharmonia Orchestra.
Nicola took to the stage during the evening to perform the Classic West End favourites ‘I Dreamed A Dream‘ from Les Miserables and ‘Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again‘ from Phantom Of The Opera. Following the two classics, she welcomed West End Star Matthew McKenna to join her in the Andrew Lloyd Webber duet, ‘Phantom Of The Opera’.
An incredible £49k was raised for Spina Bifida Hyrdocephalus Scotland, with a special thanks to Justin Currie for his auction contribution, as Ambassador Nicola is very proud.
Following the event Nicola shared her delight on Facebook:
“I had an amazing evening at The Scottish Entertainment Awards! A fantastic £49K was raised for Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland, as Ambassador I am very proud! I was also delighted and honoured to perform with the incredible Glasgow Philharmonia Orchestra! I simply love performing with an orchestra, given the opportunity I would do it at every time if I could, it’s night and day compared to just using a backing track 😂 it was a pleasure to perform songs from my favourite musicals Les Miserables and Phantom of the opera and a privilege to perform the Phantom Of The Opera Duet with West End Star Matthew McKenna! A fab night had by all! ✨🎶 Well done to all the award winners!!”
