I am so pleased to finally share the very special new music video with you all ‘Somewhere on Time’.

As part of an exciting new project I came up with the idea to create a Music Video based on my Gran Kathleen Dunsmore’s story ‘The Three Evacuees’ of her time spent during the evacuations of World War 2.

The whole process of the making of ‘Somewhere in Time’ is documented on a blog available to view here: Click here

'Somewhere in Time'

I am so passionate about the creative process of this project, a lot of heart and soul was put into this project and months of time spent creating it. I was the driving force behind every element of the music video and really pushed the boundaries of my abilities throughout.

My aim was to create something that was thought-proving and evoked emotion from the watcher/ listener. The blog documents the creation of the music, the theoretical underpinning along with the recording process. Once the music was created the next step was to create a story for the music video. Once I had established the theme of ‘long lost love’ it developed into the story of my Gran’s Evacuation which resulting in researching World War 2 and the Clydebank Blitz. Influences were taken from 1940’s style and the key elements of ‘The Three Evacuees’ story from the grand setting of the ‘Kirkennan House’ to the ‘Lemon Curd Sandwiches and Daffodils’. I also took on the role of director and brought the talented videographer Martin Bone on board to film the video at the beautiful setting of ‘Kelburn Castle¬†Estate’.

I am so proud of what I have achieved with this project and I love every element of it. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed creating it!

Love Nicola xx
